*Who May Submit Proposals: Proposals may only be submitted by the following: -Alliance Development Grants (ADG) Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) - Two-and-four-year IHEs (including community colleges) accredited in and having a campus located in the US, acting on behalf of their faculty members. Alliances:   STEM Pathways Implementation-Only (SPIO): Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) - Two-and-four-year IHEs (including community colleges) accredited in and having a campus located in the US, acting on behalf of their faculty members. STEM Pathways Research Alliance (SPRA): Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) - Two-and-four-year IHEs (including community colleges) accredited in and having a campus located in the US, acting on behalf of their faculty members. Bridge to the Baccalaureate (B2B):  B2B Alliances are composed entirely of two-year IHEs. The lead institution must award associate-level degrees in a STEM or STEM-related field. Associate-level degree-granting institutions that award four-year degrees in workforce development areas may be eligible to serve as the lead institution of a B2B alliance. Four-year institutions that award STEM baccalaureate degrees are ineligible to serve as lead institutions for B2B alliances but may be included as partner institutions for articulation purposes as a transfer pathway to four-year STEM degree programs.  Funds are not budgeted for four-year institutions in B2B projects. Proposers should contact the LSAMP program staff for any questions on eligibility for B2B alliance support. Bridges to STEM Graduate Degrees in National Priorities (BD-Master's) Master's Comprehensive IHEs as defined by Carnegie Classification only.  Carnegie Classification website: https://carnegieclassifications.acenet.edu/. Bridges to STEM Graduate Degrees in National Priorities (BD-Doctoral) Four-year IHEs accredited in and having a campus located in the US, acting on behalf of their faculty members. STEM Networking Incentives and Engagement (NETWORKS) Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) - Two-and-four-year IHEs (including community colleges) accredited in and having a campus located in the US, acting on behalf of their faculty members. Non-profit, non-academic organizations: Independent museums, observatories research laboratory professional societies and similar organizations located in the U. S. that are directly associated with educational or research activities. For-profit organizations:  U.S.-based commercial organizations, including small businesses, with strong capabilities in scientific or engineering research or education and a passion for innovation. NETWORKS projects are limited to four collaborating organizations per proposal. *Who May Serve as PI: Alliance Development Grant (ADG) Proposals The PI for ADG proposals must be an upper-level administrator/cabinet-level official from the executive leadership (i.e., Provost, Dean, VP of Academic Affairs, etc.) of the institution.  A deviation from this requirement for PI designation requires a full justification.  Faculty may be listed as Co-PIs. The purpose of this program is to support projects that bring the ideas and insights of the humanities to life in three areas: (1) exhibitions, (2) historic site interpretations, and (3) public lectures and discussions. For 2027, NEH welcomes applications that promote deeper public understanding of the following topics: Western civilization and America’s place in it; great works of literature, history, philosophy, and theology and their relevance to contemporary questions; the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution; civic education; civil discourse; cultural literacy, and the practice of close reading. Geological Survey

Cooperative Agreement for Affiliated Partner with the Colorado Plateau Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU)

U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS), Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center (NOROCK), is offering a funding opportunity to improve assessments of floodplain connectivity and riverscape health. Current approaches to identify floodplain connectivity across the western United States rely on field data, limiting inference and spatial extent of data. However, existing lidar datasets through the USGS provide unique opportunities to develop approaches using lidar elevation data to provide robust estimates of floodplain connectivity. The ultimate use of these data would be to identify factors limiting healthy riverscapes across the Great Basin. The CESU partner in collaboration with NOROCK's research fisheries biologist will advance the ability to evaluate riverscape health by addressing one or more of the following considerations to improve assessments of riverscape health: Develop a workflow for using lidar to estimate floodplain connectivity within riverscapes in the Great Basin. Demonstrate the benefits this approach in comparison to existing methods. Quantify continuous estimates of floodplain connectivity across portions of the Great Basin. Results will be useful to the broader community working to assess and restore the health and ecosystem services of riverscapes in the Western US in relation to drought, land management activities, and fish and wildlife populations. Biologists and geomorphologists from NOROCK and the CESU Partner will collaborate with federal and state agencies and NGO partners to ensure their approach and data are accessible, scalable, and transferable to encourage the uptake by the broader scientific community involved with riverscape health assessments and restoration actions. This project focuses on using remote sensing products to efficiently direct resources to restoration of rivers and riparian areas. Using lidar data to map the health of riverscapes supports: SO 3435 - Implementation of the Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences Act (June 25, 2025) SO 3442 - Land and Water Conservation Fund Implementation by the U.S. Department of the Interior (September 4, 2025) Improving methods beyond field data by leveraging available lidar data will provide continuous, robust measures of riverscape health, thus supporting and restoring Gold Standard Science approaches: EO 14303 – Restoring Gold Standard Science (May 23, 2025) SO 3441 Implementing the Requirements of Executive Order 14303, Restoring Gold Standard Science, May 23, 2025 (August 29, 2025) Restoring our riverscapes will inform Land and Water Conservation Fund Implementation by the U.S. Department of the Interior: and the lead to improved riverscape health that align with the Implementation of the Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences Act. Further, the benefits of this project will provide cascading benefits to fish and wildlife, thus recovering populations and species.
